Drama provides pupils with an inspirational active learning experience. It contributes to their aesthetic and moral development, builds confidence and encourages effective communication. In Year 7, 8 and 9 pupils receive a weekly Drama lesson of one hour. In Years 10 and 11 GCSE Drama is very popular and provides an attractive and unique addition to other option subjects. Pupils learn to use space, movement and voice with imagination to communicate meaning. They develop a range of techniques and skills required for credible improvisation and characterisations, and learn to structure an effective performance through rehearsal and self-evaluation. The school has superb facilities, which include a large seat theatre.
